Sunday, 10th of August 2025, 3pm, Lecture: The Jewish School in Vöhl

Lecture by Karl-Heinz Stadtler
Since the 18th century, Jewish children in Vöhl have been taught by Jewish teachers in parallel to their public school attendance. From the mid-19th century, there were separate school buildings and permanently employed teachers. An independent Jewish school existed until the 1920s, with an interruption during World War I.
The sources contain information about many teachers who taught the children of the Jewish community.
