The Felsberg Jewish Liberal Congregation Emet weSchalom e.V. Northern Hesse (Hebrew for “Truth and Peace”) is a progressive Jewish community based in Felsberg that serves the Northern Hesse region. A picture of their synagogue is shown at the top of this page.

On Friday, the day before Shabbat, they will visit the former synagogue in Vöhl.

Since Jewish holidays begin on the evening of the previous day, the congregation will hold a Jewish service—a Kabbalat Shabbat (Hebrew for “welcoming the Shabbat”)—at 6:00 p.m. in the former Vöhl Synagogue, followed by a Kiddush and a communal meal. Annette Wissing will lead the service. Everyone is warmly invited to attend. Men are asked to wear head coverings.
