We the Förderkreis "Synagoge in Vöhl" e. V. continuously aims to make its websites accessible for disabled persons.

The legal basis is the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG), in force since June 28, 2025, in conjunction with the Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung (BITV) 2.0.

This website is not fully compliant with the accessibility regulations that apply to us.

Accessibility measures implemented:

  • Links are highlighted in color and bold. Links to external websites indicate that they will open in a new window with a title attribute.
  • Transcripts are provided for posts with audio files. Subtitles can be enabled for videos on our YouTube channel. This also applies to external videos that can be accessed.
  • The homepage provides a page with simplified language (easy read).
  • For visual customization, font size, color, and contrast can be adjusted.
  • A heading structure (h1-h6) is used throughout.
  • Keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility are provided.

Parts of the content that are non-accessible

The content listed below does not comply with the relevant legal requirements for accessibility:

  • On some smartphones, the seating plan (sign in) is only fully visible in landscape format.
  • The accessible PDF downloads on the website do not have an outline structure and picutres are without alt-text.
  • For technical reasons, the articles containing family trees are not accessible. However, the CVs linked there can alternatively be accessed via alphabetical lists.
  • The hamburger menu on smartphones is not accessible, but this will be corrected in the next update of the template software.
  • Posts in the archive and in category books are only partially accessible.
  • The podcast format will not be continued for the time being. The one existing podcast does not have a transcript.

We are constantly striving to improve barrier-free access to our website and are currently working on further revisions, which we aim to complete by the turn of the year 2026/2027.
