A five-part documentary film by director Guido Knopp from 2001

The Förderkreis Synagoge Vöhl (Friends of the Vöhl Synagogue) is showing this film as part of its “Tuesday Cinema” series. This is the second of two DVDs (running time 70 minutes). For licensing reasons, the title may not be used for advertising purposes.
A five-part series directed by (TV) historian Guido Knopp about the history of millions of Germans who had to flee or were expelled under the worst conditions at the end of the war as the Red Army advanced. More than 1,000 contemporary and eyewitnesses were interviewed, including Russians, Poles, and Czechs. Research in the former Eastern Bloc countries and access to previously closed archives accompanied this documentary series, which sends a message against forgetting and all forms of expulsion.

Admission is free, donations are welcome.
