AKROBAT Jazz-World-Tango with Tango Transit and Tilmann Höhn

Both the Trio Tango Transit and guitarist Tilmann Höhn have performed at the synagogue on several occasions. However, the four musicians will be playing together for the first time at the anniversary concert, making it a premiere event.

Tango Transit consists of Martin Wagner (accordion), Hanns Höhn (bass), and Andreas Neubauer (drums). Since 2008, the trio from the Frankfurt area has given more than 500 concerts in Germany and abroad and released five CDs and a live DVD. The way in which the energy and expressiveness of classic tango blends with modern sound is unparalleled in this country: elements of Cajun music from Louisiana mix with the rawness of the Balkans, French musette meets oriental sounds; and sometimes even house bass drum or wah-wah and distortion on the accordion, as can be heard on their current album “Akrobat” (JAZZNARTS).
In addition to compositions by the band, this album also includes three arrangements (Roger Waters' “Brain Damage,” Astor Piazzolla's “Libertango,” and F. Mendelssohn Bartholdy's “Elfentanz”) and is the result of intensive collaboration between three exceptional instrumentalists.

Tilmann Höhn has been playing guitar since he was 14 and is known as a jazz guitarist, acoustic guitarist, blues guitarist, electric guitarist, studio bossa nova pop solo duo trio guitarist.
He composes film scores—for example, for the film Abgeschminkt! He works as a studio and live guitarist on CD, television, dance, and jingle productions.
