There was no central mikveh in Vöhl. Mikvehs existed in many houses.

Sources from the 19th century describe the baths and their hygienic condition. This shows that many houses had a mikveh.

"Spirituals und Gospels"

Rhythm, feeling, good humour is the core message of the jazz musicians from Fulda and Ederstrand. An improvisation project developed into a jazz band - the Riverside Jazz Messengers- with a focus on ‘New Orleans Jazz’. The musical preferences and temperaments are as diverse as the professions represented. That's why our motto is: as much collective as necessary - as much freedom as possible! Blues - Swing - Dixieland are the essential ingredients of our musical menu.

Admission is free. A donation is requested.

Lecture by Karl-Heinz Stadtler

Since the 18th century, Jewish children in Vöhl have been taught by Jewish teachers in parallel to their public school attendance. From the mid-19th century, there were separate school buildings and permanently employed teachers. An independent Jewish school existed until the 1920s, with an interruption during World War I.

The sources contain information about many teachers who taught the children of the Jewish community.
