Tuesday, 12 May 2026, 5pm to 10pm, #everynamecounts in the Synagogue

The Friends Association invites you to join the #everynamecounts initiative.
From May 8 to 23, the district, in collaboration with the Arolsen Archives, is calling on people to participate.
The aim is to create a digital memorial to those persecuted by the Nazis. This will enable future generations to remember the names and identities of the victims. It is a crowdsourcing project in which volunteers transfer the names, places of birth and other information from historical documents about the victims of National Socialism into digital form.
Svenja Heinze, staff member from the Arolsen Archives will provide an introduction to the project’s steps and will be available to answer questions. Anyone can participate using their own laptop, and together we can help complete the Arolsen Archives’ online archive.
The screen in the synagogue displays a presentation listing the names of 800 Holocaust victims from across the county.
The flyer explains the task in four steps.
Food and drinks will be provided; donations are welcome.
